The Recon Unit Geisha: up close and personal
Sometimes when I look at my toys I think that I am too used to seeing them. I love hearing peoples feedback at the stall and emails, where a common one is the detail involved in them. So I thought perhaps I should try to show this a bit more in my photographs, and ta da! First up is the elusive Geisha....
Her description is:
The mysterious world of the Geisha. What secrets hide in the teahouses of Gion? Recon Unit goes undercover to discover the feminine skills behind bringing (salary) men to their kness with the flick of a wrist. This power must be harnessed for the HiiRagi cause.
And so behold!
oooooo...lovely ladies.....
I actually think their main secret lies in the beautiful red lips...
I actually use kimono silk for their dresses and then a beautiful shot silk for the obi. Feels and looks divine...
Another detail that only the geisha have is that they have two 'twinkle' spots in their eyes, if you look at all the other Recon Units, they have only one. I find two adds to the feminine allure...What do you think?

Yoshitomo Nara Sake
I saw these on the Hello Sandwich blog and felt the need to share them with you. Yoshitomo Nara sake! How cool is that?! And then when you are finished they can be used as drinking glasses! I love sake, when I was in Japan I bought some which had a print on the reverse labels saying 'cup of happiness'... mmmm...definately....

Bento Box Egg Moulds for Breakfast
It's no secret I love Japanese stuff, particualy food. Lately it has been Bento Boxes, the totally cute lunch boxes with a million gimmicks and yes, as such I have bought quite a few but more on that later. To the matter at hand, I was at a loss to decide what I wanted for breakfast yesterday when my Agent sidekick suggested putting my fabulous, yet unused, bento box goodies to use. Oh yeah! So out came my brand spanking new egg moulds:
Yep, that's right egg moulds in the shape of a bunny and a bear...only in Asia....Anyway, I boiled my two eggs (the sidekick had declared they weren't hungry), one for each mould. Things were getting VERY exciting. Once boiled you crack them open and force...sorry... place the egg into the mould and then pop it into cold water for about 10 minutes and VOILA! Egg mould! I have to say it was pretty easy except when my egg didn't want to go ito the shape of a bunny and had to be... shall we say... persuaded into the process. This resulted in a bit of an explosion out the sides of the mould and a foot stamp. Sidekick decided to be hungry at this stage and took over the bear which just happened to fit perfectly (dammit!) and looked smug. You know when you could just hit someone....
Anyhow, 10 minutes later when all seemed to be working against me, the bunny and bear emerged beautiful!
The only problem was I had to share....

Drainspotting...
Recently in a bookshop where I love to waste time flicking through and getting ideas, it's just like a library to me (especially when they provide comfy chairs), I came across this book:
My whole time in Japan I never really looked down, you kind of get distracted by the dazzling lightshows happening above you and yet, here was a book by Remo Camerota (who wrote the book Grafitti Japan)dedicated to the manhole covers of Japan. He even has a blog updating new covers. I am constantly amazed at the Japanese aesthetic sensibility, each cover is made by the local municipality to reflect their local environment and some of them are just stunning (and amusing):
Aren't they just great?! There is no excuse to not be able to make everything beautiful, I mean most of these are linked to sewerage pipelines. Looks like I'm just going to have to go back to Japan to suss this all out...what a shame....

Rwoar!!!! I love Dinosaurs. The little logo also looks a bit like Astro Boy too....

How can you not add this one? Look it's a panda and a koala! Who would've thought?! They both looked a little shocked though if you ask me, maybe they can see a car coming....

HiiRagi REALLY loves the Top 6 Giant Robots in Japan
Note to self: Travel to Japan and see if there is any way possible to harness the awesome power of these giant robots for the HiiRagi cause. Check them out in detail at Muza-Chan's Gate to Japan. I love them so much I'm lost for words....
