Lately I have been developing the girls range of tees to include v-neck and scoop neck tees that are a bit more 'girlie' (as seen previously here). Recently I enlisted another of my favourite minions, we'll call her 'Rachel' with a soft 'ch' like she's French or something.... Soooooo, after making her do a set of poses to show the tees off on the website we thought it would be a grand idea if we took some tees, some props and some weaponry (thanks to another minion who we shall call 'Jon') for an impromptu photo shoot on location. The wind was blowing like a b*#ch, it looked like rain was coming in but we managed to get a few shots in and have heaps of fun in the process! A win-win situation. Hope you like them! And yes, I do realise that the tees aren't really easy to see but who cares?!
Ah,the grand poise and bearing of a HiiRagi minion... it brings tears to my eyes...
I can just hear the little Recon Units now: "Where? Where 'Rachel'? I can't see where you're pointing! We're short you know!"
Creeping, creeping, creeping.....
This is my favourite. THis image just says AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!! This is why HiiRagi will eventually win the war.

Guys! How to Accessorise your HiiRagi Tees
Now, even though I am a military organisation where practicality rules supreme, leaving little to no time for frivolity or surplus useless stuff, I do like to do a bit of accessorising. Rephotographing the guys tees recently (for use on the website soon) gave myself and one of my favourite minions (let's call him "Tim" in order to protect his identity) an opportunity to have a play around with all the ever so useful props that I have collected and continue to collect. So we came up with how to accessorise HiiRagi tees.
OK. First up in Look 1 we have the ever classic Resistance is Futile Tee in Charocal. "Tim" has chosen to mix this look up with his ALICE webbing system. Note how the army green compliments the charcoal. The softness of the t-shirt contrasts with the hardness of the harness...stylish stuff "Tim".
Look 2 sees "Tim" channel a bit of Bear Grylls if you ask me. Goggles make any outfit look cool and these bronze 'steampunk' style combined with the Middle Eastern Desert Army Scarf say 'hot'. Worn with the green HiiRagi Logo tee and face camouflage, he makes a dashing contribution to the HiiRagi cause.
Onto Look 3 and in a similar vein to Look 2, we have the goggles and scarf. This look is more of a green on green ensemble and shows real subtlety for when minions need to skim under the radar , yet be stylish at the same time. Just because you are under pressure doesn't mean you don't have time to make an effort with your uniform...
Tanks is the theme for Look 4 and nothing says "Don't mess with me!" more than the HiiRagi Tank tee. Double the fear by having an actual tank and look at people tremble! Diabolical.
And finally, Look 5. The classic Gas Mask. Wear it with a scarf (as "Tim" has here) or just wear it on its own, it is truly making itself THE HiiRagi accessory to wear. Team it with any HiiRagi Tee, here "Tim" has chosen the Recon Unit Tee in grey marle.
So there you have it guys, look at how easy it is to dress up your HiiRagi tee and still look manly, diabolical and "mean business". Dirt is also a good one, I reckon. And maybe just a bit of blood?! I'm always open to suggestions...

HiiRagi: Proud Supplier of the Trooper Lu Army
A couple of months ago I was approached by a cool guy named Justin, who wanted some 'vintage' looking designs for his motorbike garage label Trooper Lu. At first I thought he might be slightly insane but then so am I so it seemed to be a good match. We had an awesome chat and he seemed to get the jist of what I was doing, we swapped cards and to be honest I thought it would stop there....but no. He chased me down (I think we were off training in the desert at that stage, very limited mobile reception out there) and enticed me to do some drawings for him. This is the image I ended up sending to him (fingers crossed!)
I really wanted to capture a bit of the freedom of just hitting the road with nothing but a backpack, a map and a sense of adventure. And the Occupational Force just loves to get on his bike and go.
Anyway, to cut a long winded story short, he took a risk and put them onto tees!!! Hurrah!!!! The text on the tees states 'Trooper Lu: Proud Supplier of the HiiRagi Army'
This is the guys tee:
And the girls get racy red:
The tees are available on the Trooper Lu site, and I am hoping to get my hands on a few for the stall. Hats off to Justin for trying something different and letting me run amok with his garage.
What do you reckon?

Screen printing and new tees
I'm completely self taught when it comes to screen printing. I'm of the thought process that if you don't know how to do something you find out and give it a go, most of the time it ends up being much easier than you initially anticipated. Now, I say this because ever since I began screening tees I have avoided fine lines in my designs. This is because I tried one early on and it didn't work properly and I had a wobbly (I'm a brat too unfortunately). However this changed today. Minions demanded it and I hate to let my minions down so here is a new tee of the Recon Unit in their bunker trying to send out communications (see all the little lines in the timber? That used to be the stuff of nightmares to me). After 3 years of screening I have had success:
The reason for my joy and happiness. Look at the light coming through those lines (Obviously I don't get out much....)
All ready to get started
Yay!!!! The first print is always exciting (once again, I don't get out much...)
And the joy of screening, where there was one, there are now many.
These tees (all in grey marle) will be available at Salamanca Market and at designed;made this weekend.
Hurrah!
